The Queen of the Gods and the Goddess of Marriage and Fidelity was Hera. In Rome She was known as Juno. Hera was simply the epitome of woman. She was one of the Greek equivalents to the Trine Goddess. Though She was married, each year She would bath in a river that would restore her virginity. She was the mother of many of the Olympian Gods and Goddesses. She was the teaching and wise Crone. Hera was prayed to and adored by wives, girls, and elderly women. Although She had a temper and was constantly punishing Zeus' mistresses, Hera was one of the most beloved goddesses. My Hera was customized from a "Hip to Be Square" Barbie. Her hair is boil permed into thick Grecian curls with a thick bun on top of Her head crowned in delicate gold roping. She wears a traditional white toga adorned in gold filligree netting. Hera wears a floor length gold cloak, detailed in the same gold roping around Her head. Affixed to Her cloak are four real peacock feathers; Hera's signature bird. Her face is a partial repaint and Her arms and upper torso are painted with dazzling gold glitter. At Her feet sits a porcelin peacock, Her symbol. |

Athena was the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, Strategy, and Crafts. When Zeus was told, if permitted, His first wife Metis would have a son greater than the King of the Gods. Hearing that She was pregnant, Zeus quickly swallowed Metis whole. Later, He began to suffer a terrible headache. He called to His son Hephaestus and ordered Him to split His mighty skull. Hephaestus obeyed, and out sprang Athena, fully grown and in full armor. Born of Zeus' head, Athena retained all of the wisdom of Her father. She quickly became Zeus' favorite child; as He often called upon her for advice and counsel. Athena was originally a "Magic Color Change Hair" Barbie. She wears a traditional Greek robe, trimmed in a gold Grecian design. In her right hand she holds a spear. On her right arm, a shield. Her hair is left long but tied back; making warfare easier when the Goddess isn't busy worrying about Her long locks. Athena's symbol, the owl, is perched delicately on Her shoulder; so that he may whisper advice into Her ear. Athena is a partial repaint, and as with Hera, Her arms and upper torso are painted with delicate golden sparkles. |

Artemis was the Greek Goddess of the Hunt. She was a virgin goddess, asking her father Zeus at the tender age of four for eternal chastity. Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo, the God of Truth, Medicine, and Music. While Apollo was identified with the sun and chose gold as his signature color, Artemis was identified with the moon; choosing silver as Her color. Although she hunted wild animals and remained a virgin, Artemis was also the Goddess of young animals, children, and childbirth because she assisted her mother Leto in the birth of her brother. Artemis is dressed in a short Grecian tunic, suitable for running after her prey. Slung across one shoulder is a Fimo silver bow, highlighted in silver sparkles. Across her other shoulder is a silver quiver filled with arrows. Her hair is upswept in thick Grecian curls. Her face is a partial repaint, highlighted in silver sparkles. At Her feet rests one of Athena's ten glorious hunting dogs, given to her by her half brother Pan. |
